Boulder County officials investigate death near Nederland

Boulder County investigators say a 27-year-old man found just off of 4800 Fourth of July Road, west of Nederland, died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

A snowshoer reported finding a dead body covered in snow about 12:50 p.m. Saturday. There were no indications of foul play, and a preliminary investigation at the scene points to an apparent suicide, according to the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office.

The coroner’s office will make a determination as to the cause and manner of death once it has completed its  investigation, according to a sheriff’s department press release.
