The body of a man has been recovered following a search for a missing jet skier in southern Sydney.
About 7.30pm on Friday, emergency services were called to Burraneer Bay, near Port Hacking, after reports three men had been thrown from a jet ski into the water.
The driver, a 44-year-old man from Dolans Bay, and one of the passengers, a 39-year-old man from Yowie Bay, were rescued from the water.
Both men were wearing life jackets.
The older man was taken to St George Hospital with suspected chest injuries, and he remains there, while the younger man was not injured.
Yet a third man, believed to be aged in his 30s, could not be located.
An extensive multi-agency search was carried to locate the him, with PolAir, local police, marine police, surf lifesavers and Ambulance NSW all assisting.
The operation was suspended at 8.30pm due to poor light and recommenced at 7am Christmas Day.
About 10.40pm police divers located the body of a man near Shiprock Reserve, Dolans Bay.
Officer’s from the Marine Area Command are still conducting inquiries and will prepare a report for the coroner.
