The Sydney Thunder have added some serious pace to their bowling stocks after signing New Zealander Adam Milne for the upcoming BBL season.
Milne, who made his debut for New Zealand as an 18-year-old in 2010, made headlines in 2014 when he bowled a 153 km/h delivery against India.
The 28-year-old has played 40 ODIs and 21 T20s for New Zealand, with his last appearance for his country coming in 2018.
Milne joins Daniel Sams, Chris Tremain, Ben Cutting, Brendan Doggett and all- rounder Nathan McAndrew in the Thunder’s bowling attack.
“Adam is fast, he can swing the ball at 140-plus km/h, he’s a good fielder and is handy with the bat,” Thunder coach Shane Bond said.
“When you’ve been to a World Cup and some of the world’s top competitions, you’re a serious player and a hardened pro.
“The fact a player of Adam’s quality is available for the entire tournament is a real bonus for us. On a personal level, I’m really looking forward to working with him again.”
