Belmont fireplace: Suspicious blaze rips through La Belmont Gifts along Belvidere Street

Police suspect a blaze which ripped through a vape shop in Perth’s eastern suburbs early Monday morning may have been deliberately lit.

The West Australian understands several molotov cocktails were thrown through the glass doors of La Belmont Gifts, along Belvidere Street, about 3.30am.

A member of the public alerted emergency services to the blaze inside the shop, with several firefighters called to battle the “small fire,” according to police.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services attended the scene and conducted an initial assessment.

Early signs in the investigation suggest the fire is suspicious.

Several detectives and forensic officers were at the scene on Monday morning investigating the suspicious blaze.

Arson squad detectives spoke with forensic officers before entering the vape store.
