Banding together for fab sounds

Two bands from two different worlds will tour together through the heart of Western Australia’s and the Northern Territory’s desert country.

The Desert Stars will be performing in Broome at the Divers Tavern on September 14 with special guests The Re-Mains.

Hailing from the remote community of Tjuntjuntjara in WA’s South East, The Desert Stars sing of their homeland and desert culture through raw, AC/DC- infused rock music. Their songs are written partly in the Pitjantjatjara language and partly in English.

Their reputation as a ferocious rock‘n’roll outfit has spread throughout the regional communities and towns of WA and they are looking to expand their horizons with a big tour of their home State and the east coast next year.

Performing with The Desert Stars will be New South Wales outfit The Re-Mains, who have been touring Australia, Canada and Europe for more than 15 years. Their special brand of country rock‘n’roll features banjo and pedal steel roaring over a rock rhythm section.

The Re-Mains have collaborated with The Desert Stars recently, leading to a rich connection between the two bands.

The bands come to the Divers Tavern after touring Pitjantjatjara country at the northern tip of the Nullarbor Plain, Warburton, Yulara and Alice Springs.

From Broome they will travel south to Kalgoorlie-Boulder, finishing their tour at the Boulder Town Hall.
