An elderly woman was allegedly bashed unconscious and left for dead in an unprovoked attack in Balcatta on Monday.
Police say the woman, aged in her 80s, was walking on Amelia Street, reportedly to a hairdressing appointment, about 8.50am.
It is alleged a 21-year-old woman attacked the woman without warning, assaulting her and causing her to fall to the ground unconscious.
Police say the younger woman did not render any help to the victim, who suffered bruising and facial injuries.
When the alleged assailant was arrested nearby, police say she assaulted two police officers.
The 21-year-old, of Balcatta, has been charged with acts or omissions causing bodily harm and two counts of assaulting a public officer.
She is due to appear in Perth Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
