At least 43 people killed in India’s worst floods in nearly a century

At least 43 people have been killed in the Indian tourist state of Kerala during the worst floods in nearly a century. Authorities have issued a ‘red alert’ for 12 out of 14 districts, with heavy rain forecast until the weekend. Hundreds of houses have been destroyed and there has been significant damage to crops, as tens of thousands of people are left stranded.
