ASIS launches skilled recruits campaign

ASIS wants you to join the queue to become Q.

The Australian Secret Intelligence Service is launching a new recruitment campaign to find technologists and other highly skilled people to fill a number of roles.

The nation’s secret foreign intelligence collection agency is seeking people trained in information technology, software development, data science, engineering, cyber-security and customer service.

The organisation needs to be at the cutting edge of technology to stay a step ahead of those who threaten Australia’s interests and to keep its officers on operations safe.

“The popular image of a technologist with an intelligence agency might be someone who makes gadgets for the field, but in fact there is a wide range of areas from cyber to big data that are becoming increasingly critical to an agency such as ours,” ASIS director-general Paul Symon said.

The new campaign builds on ASIS’s successful “Most Interesting Job Interview” campaign in 2017.

“We are looking for people who can uphold and reflect our core values,” Mr Symon said.

“These include integrity, respect and honesty – qualities that every ASIS officer shares. At the same time, we are looking for diversity of thought and diversity of experiences.”
