WA ANZ customers will no longer be able to keep items in safety deposit boxes as the big bank looks to phase out the service nationally.
Safety deposit boxes are used to store important documents like wills and title deeds as well as valuable items such as jewellery.
An ANZ spokesperson said the bank was in a long-term process of removing the service from its bank branches across Australia.
“We are currently reviewing our custodial services facilities in Western Australia as we are no longer be best placed to provide this service in a way that meets the ongoing needs of our customers,” the spokeperson said.
“We will soon be writing to our Western Australian customers to give them plenty of notice that we will no longer offer this service and to let them know about alternative solutions.”
ANZ has not offered safety deposit boxes to new customers since 2016.
