Orazio Fantasia is finally heading home to South Australia, with Essendon striking a last-minute deal with Port Adelaide.
The small forward, who was close to signing a deal with Port Adelaide at the end of 2019, signed a three-year deal to head to Alberton in return for pick 29 and a future third rounder.
The Bombers also offloaded pick 73.
“Orazio is a player that we think will make our side better,” Port’s general manager of football Chris Davies said.
“We know his speed, skill and goal sense will add to our forward mix, and his availability in the front half will allow us to give more midfield minutes to some of our younger players like Zak Butters and Connor Rozee.
“He has had some injury issues in recent years but we back our medical and high-performance teams to get him back to full fitness and playing some strong, Port Adelaide football over the coming years.”
Fantasia played 80 games for the Bombers, kicking 111 goals.
He was plucked from Norwood in the SANFL with pick 55 in the 2013 AFL Draft.
The 25-year-old told Essendon last month he wanted to return home to be closer to family in 2021.
