Aaron Finch’s best ODI knocks for Aust

In the opening game on home soil, Finch hit 135 off 128 balls as Australia set rivals England 343 to win at the MCG.

His knock was crucial for the hosts who began their campaign with a bang, culminating in the trophy after defeating New Zealand in the final.

*SCOTLAND 2013 – FINCH’S FIRST ODI CENTURY FOR AUSTRALIA

In just his eighth international ODI, Finch amassed 148 in just as many minutes in Edinburgh. He, along with Shaun Marsh (151 runs) steered Australia to a 200-run win over Scotland through their opening partnership.

*MELBOURNE 2014 – FINCH CENTURY SEALS WIN AGAINST ENGLAND ON HOME TURF

In the first ODI of England’s 2014 tour of Australia, the hosts were set 270 to win. Finch hit 121 off 128 balls and notched a first ODI century at the MCG as Australia went on to win by six wickets.

* PAKISTAN 2019 – FINCH’S HIGHEST UNDEFEATED ODI SCORE

Fresh off a 116-run knock in their first ODI against Pakistan, Finch backed up his display with an unbeaten 153, hitting 11 boundaries and six maximums as Australia chased down the hosts’ 284 run total with eight wickets in hand and 13 balls remaining.

Finch was most prolific in 2019, scoring 1141 at an average of 51.86 from 23 matches.

Finch equalled his highest total in an ODI, scoring 153 at the 2019 World Cup at the Oval.

He and David Warner were the premier opening batsmen at the tournament which saw Australia bow out in the semi-finals against hosts England.
