A concert to remember | The West Australian

Paul Kelly headlined the popular Leeuwin Estate concert on Saturday, with more than 5000 people in attendance for one of Australia’s most beloved solo acts.

The prestigious event drew a cast of Perth’s most respected and successful people, including Federal Finance and Public Service Minister Mathias Cormann and wife, Hayley; and WA Treasurer Ben Wyatt and wife Vivianne.

Kelly’s performance included classics such as Dumb Things, How To Make Gravy and a four-song encore starting with From Little Things Big Things Grow and culminating in a poetic five-person harmony. However, a controversial ending to the performance was sparked when revellers dancing at the side of the event rushed the stage and stood dancing in front of the $500 ticket-holders who were sitting, sparking a mad rush to the front of the amphitheatre for the encore.
